What We Do

pattern pattern

At the Head Start WEST, our motto is “We Elevate Head Start Community” and that is what we do! But why? Head Start stands as a unique 2-generational program focused on upward mobility – for enrolled children, their families and the communities served. Upward mobility means closing the education readiness gap for the youngest learners. Ensuring they start their compensatory education ready to succeed regardless of circumstances of birth. Upward mobility means strengthening families by building on their strengths, however, limited or stressed. Fostering strategies resulting in resilience, addressing trauma, and supporting family functioning so that all members can contribute in a healthy manner. Upward mobility means community engagement that cultivates participation in civic life.

Helping all to see the essential goal of building healthy communities for all to thrive.
At Head Start WEST we believe in elevating the actions of children, teachers, program leaders, and government partners to strengthen collaborations and increase awareness of Head Start and Early Head Start’s advantage.

We elevate the community by offering professional development trainings, peer-to-peer networks, membership services, and communications.
