In 2027, Head Start WEST will celebrate a remarkable milestone—50 years of elevating the Head Start community! As we honor our history and look toward the future, we’re inviting our members, partners, and friends to help us make a lasting investment in the people who make Head Start extraordinary.
On December 1, 2026, we’re launching our 2027 Legacy Scholarship Campaign as part of GivingTuesday, with an ambitious and meaningful goal:
$50,000 for 50 Years!
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to support the Spring 2027 Legacy Scholarship Program, helping Head Start professionals pursue their educational dreams, advance their careers, and strengthen the communities they serve.
For many Head Start professionals, continuing their education is both a personal aspiration and a pathway to greater opportunity. Our scholarships help make those dreams more attainable, supporting individuals who have dedicated their careers to helping young children and families thrive.
Every scholarship is more than financial assistance. It’s an investment in a person’s potential, a family’s future, and the continued strength of the Head Start community.

I have been to management workshops, not leadership training. This has totally changed my perspective and encouraged me to propel forward in developing my skills.
I am honored and humbled to be a recipient of the Head Start WEST’s Legacy Scholarship. The scholarship helped me get one step closer to achieving my goal of becoming a Head Start Director.
I took part in The disproportionate impact of COVID 19, and how to provide “real” support for black/brown children and families and I just want to say this was an amazing webinar. I hope we can look forward to further conversation on this topic.
